Nick Cave on Cockatoo Island

Summer’s newest boutique music festival, All Tomorrow’s Parties, is just around the corner. In preparation for the mammoth event Australian music's dark prince, Nick Cave visited Cockatoo Island on Saturday.

Cockatoo Island has a long and mysterious past having been a reformatory, prison and industrial school, and is ready for its next make over as the perfect location for this new exciting festival. Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds' will unleash their "ultimate mix tape" on January 17 and 18 at the event they were invited to curate as part of Sydney Festival.

The line-up of more than 20 acts includes local punk bands the Saints and the Dirty Three who will be playing in unique locations, Cave gave his seel of approval on Saturday saying "The spaces to play are extraordinary”.
