iiNET FILMS AFLOAT AT DARLING HARBOUR – THIS WEEKEND

The first iiNet Films Afloat at Darling Harbour kicked off on Wednesday night featuring improvisational UK band The Bays and the punchy iconic film Run Lola Run. To see a review, click here.

Those who attended and commented on the Sydney Festival website said:

- “Saw this Wednesday night. Always was a great movie and The Bays made it more so. A great marriage of music to the action - gets the blood pumping! Go see it tonight.”

- “Fantastic band. Great Movie. The original soundtrack was very good and I thought hard to beat but this was sensational.”

- “Wednesday night - It wasn't just the film. It was the whole experience. The evening was perfect with Darling Harbour, full of families and friends having fun. Finding somewhere to sit (or stand). Watching the short films with the growing crowd applauding after every one. Then watching Lola run and run, and scream, to the great sound of The Bays. Having the city and its neons on all sides seemed just right.”

At tonight and tomorrow night’s iiNet Films Afloat screening, New York City based composer and multi-instrumentalist Karsh Kale joins forces with New Delhi based electronica producers, The MIDIval Punditz, to perform their incendiary new live score of the 1973 Bruce Lee martial arts classic Enter the Dragon.

On Sunday night at 8.30pm you can see Ben Walsh and The Orkestra of the Underground perform a live soundtrack to the 1973 Cannes French sci-fi animation Fantastic Planet. Hear a musical mashup of horns, sitar, synthesizers, drums, tabla, strings, Indian vocals, guitar, Bosnian Gypsy opera, decks and junk percussion composed and conceived by Ben Walsh.
